Maalikas was started by Margus Tammemäe — an event organiser with over 20 years of experience and a genuine passion for art and people.

Margus has spent years visiting exhibitions, studying artists, and asking the questions that fascinate him: how did they get here, what drives them, what do they believe in. That curiosity is what drives Maalikas. This isn't a paint-by-numbers experience or a corporate box-ticking exercise. It's a real creative session, led by someone who cares about what happens in the room.

Maalikas runs from Kopli FOOR — an art garage inside the Põhjala Tehas industrial campus in Tallinn's Kopli district. The space used to be a Soviet-era industrial facility. Now it's one of Tallinn's most interesting creative venues.

Workshops run in Estonian, English, and Russian. Groups of 10–50 people.
